DNA is basically a natures hard drive, you are the result of the 3 dimensional computer program written in tiny compounds, it is a set of instructions coded and save that our bodies can write and reads too to build proteins, construct cells and perform some other tasks.

Genetic Engineering is basically us trying to hack our own hard drive. And we are learning more about the possibility of accomplishing this everyday.

Mikhail Neiman created the idea that we should use the compact, efficient, storage system of DNA to store not natures code but what ever we want it.

In 2013 scientists proved that they can write computer data into synthetic DNA without any error.

Machine language like your mobile phone, computer and other technology you see has binary with zeroes 0 and ones 1, with this 0 and 1 technology can read and program what will happen to the hardware of the gadget after ready a bunch of zeroes and ones while the DNA has A,T,G and C.

Even computers and DNA has the different type of reading, there are some algorithms made by the scientists to convert the binary to DNA.

Hard Drives, Flash Drive, CD and other storage device all have a shell life. Tape backups commonly used by major data centers like facebook, google, youtube and other needs special climate control facilities with constant maintenance to prevent the hardware from heating up, meanwhile DNA can survive for a minimal effort under a rock or any else where but not on fire.

A single gram (1gram) of DNA can store up to 215 petabytes of data but scientists believed that the upper limit is higher than 1 zetabyte of data (Trillion Gigabytes).

But using DNA Storage it cost a lot, it is expensive these days.
